What is a Bible Church

  • Biblically Balanced – Most Bible churches are balanced churches. They adhere to the fundamentals of faith while addressing contemporary issues. Many of the churches founded years ago by Bible-believing organizations no longer believe the Bible is the source of absolute truth (Jn. 17:17). Some no longer believe that faith in Jesus’ substitutional death on the cross is the only means of salvation (Jn. 14:6). Faith Bible Church strives to present both a solid, joyful and positive worship atmosphere in a day of spiritual uncertainty through a consistent & literal interpretation of the Bible with application.
  • Biblical Living, Preaching & Teaching – In the midst of the shifting sands of popular opinion, the Word of God provides personal, spiritual strength. This is why God’s Word is the core of preaching and teaching at Faith Bible (2 Tim. 4:2). In addition to the work of the Spirit, God’s Word has the power to effect real change in a person’s life. Therefore we seek to align ourselves with the standards of the Bible (2 Tim. 3:17).
  • Nondenominational – Most Bible churches are independent, self-governing and self-supporting organizations. Though some identify with other fellowships who hold common beliefs, there is no denominational control. We believe in the autonomy of the local church.
  • Mutually Committed – We love and belong to Jesus Christ who has saved us by His grace. Bible churches are not perfect churches but rather forgiven men and women who meet together, committed to God, His Word and to one another. It is our desire to serve. If you would like more information or have questions call (712) 662-6234. May God bless you in your search for a local Bible-believing church.

Meet the Pastor

I Tim. 1:12-16- I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who has given me strength, that he considered me trustworthy, appointing me to his service. Even though I was once a blasphemer and a persecutor and a violent man, I was shown mercy because I acted in ignorance and unbelief.  The grace of our Lord was poured out on me abundantly, along with the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus. Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners—of whom I am the worst.  But for that very reason I was shown mercy so that in me, the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display his immense patience as an example for those who would believe in him and receive eternal life.

Pastor Jason Baustian placed his faith in Jesus Christ as Savior at the age of 21. After reading several books in the Old Testament, he was convinced of his own sinful and lost condition and that he desperately needed God’s salvation. Observing his co-worker (Sam Tannahill) reading his bible at lunch, giving thanks for his meals as well as his consistent Christian living, Jason started Sam asking questions about the Bible. Sam would write down where the answers were in the Bible so that Jason could go home and look them up. Knowing of Jason’s interest, Sam began inviting him to church and introduced him to Christian radio. Finally, Jason understood that Jesus fulfilled the sacrificial system in the Old Testament as “the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world.” He says, “when I trusted in Christ’s finished work on the cross to save me from my sins, I felt a weight literally lifted off my shoulders. I wasn’t carrying it any longer, because Christ took it all.” After being approached by three different false teachers, Jason starting attending Calvary Bible College to acquire a more solid foundation. He met the love of his life, Alison at the Bible Church they attended and they were married there in August 2001. After attending a second year at Calvary, they both decided to move out west to attend Frontier School of the Bible. Pastor Jason has his Bachelors in Pastoral Studies and was ordained a few years later. After college and two internships, he began his first full-time ministry in Michigan where he served as Pastor for seven years. Upon the Lord’s call to serve at Faith Bible, Sac City him and his family moved to Iowa, January 2013. Pastor Jason loves old cars, is an avid outdoorsman, bow hunter, and fisherman who’s thankful for God’s great outdoors. Most of all loves spending time with his wife and four daughters. He is truly grateful for the loving family of believers at Faith Bible. He is looking forward to proclaiming God’s love for us in Christ and serving alongside the people of Faith Bible for many years to come.

Missions

    • Faith Bible Church has an organized mission program for the purpose of proclaiming the Gospel worldwide. This will be evidenced by local outreach, our prayer and financial support of missionaries outside of our body, and by our support and sending of missionaries from our church body.
    • We believe that it is the obligation of the saved to witness by life and by word to the truths of Holy Scripture and to seek to proclaim the Gospel to all mankind.
    • Members and Friend of the Faith Bible church are encouraged to give to the individual [approved] missionaries of their choice. For those missionaries and projects approved by the church, offerings will be collected weekly as a part of the general offering collection. Friends and members may designate an amount to be given using the memo section of a check or placing check or cash in a marked envelope.
    • Currently, Faith Bible supports missionaries in Ukraine, Honduras, China, as well as the United States.
